Bonita Gale (Bonnie) Moore Obituary

Bonita Gale Smith Moore, affectionately known as Bonnie to her friends and family, passed away peacefully at her residence in Jackson on February 19, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on April 3, 1948, in Macon, Bonnie was a beacon of kindness and thoughtfulness throughout her life, touching the hearts of all who knew her.

Bonnie was a proud graduate of Jackson High School's class of 1966, where she formed lifelong friendships and memories. Her passion for beauty and self-expression led her to pursue a career in cosmetology, a field in which she excelled after graduating from cosmetology school. Bonnie's warm smile and skilled hands were a familiar comfort at Rita's and Willie T's, where she worked for many years.

Her love for life was evident in her diverse interests, which included bird watching, caring for her beloved cats, and the thrill of riding motorcycles. Bonnie's adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors were matched only by her dedication to her family and friends.

Bonnie's legacy is carried on by her loving family. She is survived by her two sons, Jody and Tina Brooks, Johnnie and Angel Moore; three daughters, Melanie and Larry Worley, Crissie and Kevin Tanner, Laura and Jamie Brown; her brother, Chris Smith; and her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy and laughter to her life.

She was predeceased by her husband, Wesley Moore, her parents, Clarence and Rebecca Smith, and her brother, Adam Smith, who paved the way for her to join them in eternal rest.

Bonnie's life was a testament to the power of kindness. Her thoughtful nature made her a confidante and friend to many. She had the rare ability to listen with an open heart, offer wisdom with gentle words, and embrace life's moments with grace and gratitude.

Bonnie's life will be commemorated in a private ceremony, where her family and close friends will gather to honor her memory and the incredible journey, she shared with each of them at the Free Indeed Christ Fellowship Church, at a later date.  Her presence will be deeply missed, but the stories of her kindness, her laughter, and her love will resonate for generations to come.
